Crankenhaus was formed in 2007 originally with Ville Juntto in lead guitar. Pretty soon his other endeavours forced us to find another guitarist, and the next player J.J. was a natural choice for the band, because Dee, Jussi and J.J. had already played together in a band called D-A (see dee's homepage here) in 2002-2004, releasing a few EP's and playing a dozen or so gigs. Even before that Dee and Jussi had also played together in a band called aura.Kingdom (vid on youtube) Dee had already worked with Tony in a recording session in '05 and at since that there had been plans to do something more together later. Pete was selected to play bass because of his steady and solid playing style and Dee and Pete were also old friends all the way back from the college and later on as colleagues.

In late 2008 Heikki from Tony's other bands such as Dogdays stepped as a new guitarist in as J.J. had to pursue other interests.
